Call for Abstracts: International Conference for Advancing Public Procurement

Closes:

Introduction

Abstracts are invited for the International Conference for Advancing Public Procurement (ICAPP), which will be held in Dublin, Ireland from November 10 – 12, 2024.

The mission of ICAPP is to provide an opportunity for both experienced and early career professionals and scholars to present and publish research on public procurement at an exciting international platform and to engage with global experts on critical issues facing public procurement.

The world is looking to public procurement professionals and academics to understand how to organize their supply chains, how to purchase securely and responsibly, and how to build resilience, flexibility, and agility to prepare for the disruptions of tomorrow. Digital transformation and the need for online resources and relevant and accurate data are opening new and exciting opportunities for the management of public procurement. It is also aiding in networking and the sharing of innovative ideas. This enables innovative ways to tackle sustainability challenges, e.g., through better transparency and control of procurement and the execution of the contract.

Call for Abstracts

ICAPP’s inaugural meeting will provide a forum for academics and practitioners to present research papers and discuss the future developments of the field, broadly defined. Cost of Registration

Registration fee is only $200 USD. This includes sponsored events including the opening reception, two lunches, two continental breakfasts, and a closing reception.

Since Dublin City University is hosting the event, the costs typically associated with registration fees (such as presentation rooms, AV equipment, and larger auditoriums), are being paid for by the University – not through your registration fees. In addition, over the last couple of decades, we as seasoned academics have learned that often we can book cheaper accommodations than those provided by the host venue. Therefore, we have provided a number of hotels around the conference venue (most within walking distance or easily accessible by public transport), for you to make your own reservations to suit your particular needs. In addition, there are always sites like Airbnb where you may find even less expensive options around Dublin City University. Your choice!

Presenting at the ICAPP

To be considered for presenting your research at the ICAPP, you are required to submit an abstract by June 3, 2024. For details regarding how to submit your abstract, please click https://icapp2024.com/abstracts/. In order to maintain the standards associated with academic conferences, presenters are required to submit a working paper, and for details about working papers, please click here https://icapp2024.com/publication-in-jopp-or-epppl/. The working paper will be distributed to the panel discussant prior to the conference. That way, robust discussions can take place, learning opportunities evolve, and scholarship advances.

Publication Opportunities

For those who are interested in having their manuscripts considered for publication in either the Journal of Public Procurement or the European Procurement & Public Private Partnership Law Review, specific instructions can be found on the ICAPP website. Please note that both journals are offering the ICAPP special issues that satisfy the academic standards for blind peer review. Given the varied audiences of JoPP and EPPPL, we encourage a wide variety of submissions ranging from scholarly papers to case studies. The selection of works included in the final special issues will reflect a cohesive collection and depend upon the actual manuscripts submitted for possible publication
