Early Career Review Board

Career Development International

Career Development International (CDI) is proud to introduce the Early Career Review Board (ECRB).

CDI provides a platform for research in career theory and organizational strategy, policy, and practice. CDI encourages multidisciplinary research and welcomes both qualitative and quantitative studies. In addition to research papers, CDI now welcomes practitioner-style articles to acknowledge the growing need for more “immediate” impact.

As a careers journal, CDI has long recognized the positive impact of mentorship and the importance of providing opportunities for mentoring to others. To this end, we have established an ECRB that will offer early career scholars (i.e., those who have received a doctoral degree within the past five years or are close to completing their PhD) training and experience in the editorial process. This will include formal training through our ScholarOne system and informal learning with our Senior Editors and EiC.

Selected ECRB members will be appointed for two years and, upon recommendation from the Senior Editors, the possibility of joining the Editorial Advisory Board. Appointed RB members will be expected to review 3-4 manuscripts annually. There will be two streams to which selected ECRB members can contribute. The first will be the “research paper” stream. The second will be the “practitioner-style paper.”

Applications to the ECRB are currently CLOSED, but will re-open in September 2024 for interested applicants. When submissions do re-open, the application process requests a short motivation letter and CV.
