Bridge Engineering journal seeks Deputy Editor-in-Chief
Bridge Engineering is looking for a Deputy Editor in Chief to co-lead its panel from May 2024.
Introduction
ICE Publishing has a vacancy for a Deputy Editor in Chief in its Bridge Engineering journal in 2024 and provide support to the new Editor in Chief in various aspects of journal management. For more information about the journal please go to the Bridge Engineering home page.
About the role
The role of the deputy chair is to:
- Assist in enhancing journal quality and promotion;
- Support in providing editorial direction to the editorial panel;
- Assist in peer review process, including arbitration and response to author complaints;
- Attend and contribute to editorial panel meetings, potentially taking on the role of chairing meetings in the absence of the Editor-in-Chief;
- Assist in awards selection process;
- Further the quality of the journal and to promote it to the international community;
- Provide editorial direction to the Panel;
- Oversee peer review to publish journal issues on time;
- Manage the membership of the Panel;
- Arbitrate on differences of opinion on papers;
- In consultation with the Publisher, respond to author complaints and advise on corrective action.
