About the Journal of Financial Crime
The Journal of Financial Crime (JFC) publishes authoritative, practical and detailed insight in the most serious and topical issues relating to the control and prevention of financial crime and related abuse. The articles in JFC are authored by some of the leading international scholars and practitioners in the fields of law, criminology, economics, criminal justice and compliance. Consequently, articles are perceptive, evidence-based and have policy impact.
Review process
Reviews are performed on the ScholarOne Manuscripts submissions platform; it is easy to create an account here. When creating your profile, it is important to add in your areas of expertise to ensure you are invited to review appropriate manuscripts.
ScholarOne provides some guidance for new reviewers, which may help if you are new to reviewing and/or the ScholarOne platform. Emerald also offers some key dos and don'ts for reviewing.
If you are unable to review the manuscript you are sent, we value recommendations for suitable alternative individuals who may be eligible to review if you must decline the invitation.
Eligibility
Applicants working in academia should:
- Have a relevant research degree.
- Have experience as a published author in the field.
- Hold an established academic appointment as a chair or a lecturer.
- Have good command of the English language, with verbal and written fluency.
Applicants working as practitioners should:
- Have some evidence of academic standing (such as a postgraduate degree in a relevant area).
- Hold relevant professional qualifications.
- Have at least five years of relevant practice experience.

Requirements
1. Reviewers may be requested to review manuscripts up to three times per year.
2. Reviewers should return their reviews within 30 days.
3. Reviewers should provide complete and detailed comments on submitted papers.
4. Reviewers must not distribute any manuscripts reviewed or disclose information from the reviewed manuscripts.
