Journal of Property Investment & Finance (JPIF) is very proud to present this special issue on Property Valuation in association with The European Group of Valuers’ Associations – TEGOVA. The main mission for TEGOVA is to promote the profession of valuer and the harmonisation of European valuation standards through cooperation and education within the 69 national valuers’ associations from 37 different countries.
In this issue, we present topical and salient research undertaken by TEGOVA looking at the Automated Valuation Models as well as looking at the valuation process from a heuristic viewpoint. In both cases, the paramount concern is to ensure that valuations “mark to market”. Property Valuation is a lynchpin in the business world and it is important that valuers are at the cutting edge of research and practice to ensure that Market Values are assessed and presented in an appropriate way for an every changing market place.
