WHATT 2023 Global Trends issue launch event

The Institute of Tourism - IPDT and Emerald Publishing invite you to the launch of the 2023 Worldwide Hospitality and Tourism Themes (WHATT) Global Trends issue, to take place at the Porto Hotel and Tourism School – EHTP, on November 22, 2023, between 10:30 am and at 12:30 p.m.

Emerald Publishing is one of the world’s leading publishers of academic journals and the annual WHATT Global Trends issue in tourism has been edited by IPDT since 2016 https://www.emerald.com/insight/publication/issn/1755-4217. The 2023 Global Trends issue launch will for the first time, take place in Portugal, with free access to all the articles in the issue provided by Emerald for one month from Wednesday 22 November 2023. The 2023 Global Trends issue (WHATT v15 n6), is organized around the central question: 'Rethinking tourism: Where is it going and how will it impact people and the planet?', which is addressed in 14 articles, written by a group of experts, including professors and researchers such as Richard Butler, John Bowen, Alfonso Vargas-Sanchez, Peter Tarlow and Paulo Águas, and political and business decision-makers such as Berta Cabral - SRTMI / Azores Regional Government, Eduardo Jesus - SRTC / Madeira Regional Government, Luís Pedro Martins – Porto & North Tourism Board, Bernardo Trindade – Portuguese Hotels Association, Carlos Moura – Portuguese Restaurants Association, and Pedro Costa Ferreira – Portuguese Travel Agencies and Tour Operators Association.

The launch event is organized by IPDT in partnership with the Porto & North Tourism Board and the Porto Hotel and Tourism School (EHTP), where it will take place.
