Celebrating Emerald’s High Usage Awards 2024

The top 20 global academic institutions with the highest number of downloads of Emerald’s eJournal content have been announced.

Now in its 13th year, the annual High Usage Awards celebrate the relationship between Emerald Publishing and the winning institutions. The awards also highlight the global reach and impact of the research published by Emerald.

For the third year in a row, the top three positions are held by Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia, with 756,057 downloads, Egyptian Knowledge Bank Data Center, Egypt, with 663,751, and Liberty University, USA, with 443,941.

The top 20 institutions include eight from the UK, five from Indonesia, and three from Malaysia. Institutions from Egypt, the USA, Australia and China are also featured.

Natalie Jacobs, Chief Product Officer at Emerald Publishing, said: "Congratulations to the institutions featured in this year’s High Usage Awards.   9. Diponegoro University, Indonesia
  10. Universitas Indonesia, Indonesia
  11. University of Manchester, United Kingdom
  12. University of Southampton, United Kingdom
  13. University of Birmingham, United Kingdom
  14. University of Liverpool, United Kingdom
  15. Universiti Utara Malaysia, Malaysia
