Research Journal of Textile and Apparel (RJTA) is an international journal focused on innovative research relating to the management and technological developments of textiles and the textile industry.

Formerly known as the Journal of the Hong Kong Institution of Textile and Apparel, RJTA was first published in 1997 and is a flagship journal of the Hong Kong Institution of Textile and Apparel (established in 1993). The journal aims to encourage the presentation of scientific research results that introduce new concepts, innovative technologies, and improved understanding of materials and processing, management, design and retailing related to fibre, yarn, fabric, dyeing and finishing, apparel for different applications.

Aims and scope

The aim of the Research Journal of Textile and Apparel (RJTA) is to facilitate and promote the dissemination of research ideas and applications at an internationally recognized academic level. RJTA represents current developments of scientific research results and maintains a strong presence in the international academic and industrial communities.

Distributed worldwide, the journal accepts contributions on the basis of merit and originality and presents peer-reviewed research and review papers from worldwide research centres dealing with direct chemical and physical experiments, mathematical modeling and theoretical analysis of textile and apparel systems.

The Editor-in-Chief strongly encourages submissions in:

  • Introduction of new concepts in textiles and apparel,
  • Innovative textile technologies,
  • Improved understanding of materials and processing,
  • Management in the textile industry,
  • Design and retailing related to fiber, yarn, fabric, dyeing and finishing
  • Apparel for different applications.
