Established in 1980, Therapeutic Communities (TC) is the only peer-reviewed journal dedicated to publishing international findings related to therapeutic communities, therapeutic and enabling environments and related fields.

Aims and scope

Therapeutic Communities (TC) provides a forum in which those engaged in developing, managing and sustaining therapeutic cultures can publish original research, communicate experiences, consider the effects of political and social policy on their own settings, disseminate ideas, developments and findings, and communicate good practice.

Therapeutic Communities is the international journal of The Consortium for Therapeutic Communities (TCTC).

Via TCTC, the journal is also supported by The Institute of Mental Health, the Australasian Therapeutic Communities Association and the Community of Communities network at the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
