Aims and Scope

The American Journal of Business (AJB) publishes work that makes a significant contribution to the understanding of business. It emphasizes an understanding of how theories and findings inform business practice and offers insights and practical advice on business issues through Executive Viewpoints from leading professionals. The AJB readership also have the opportunity to engage with Deans from leading institutions in the USA through the Dean's Forum section.

Topics covered in the American Journal of Business include:
  • Accounting
  • Finance
  • Information Systems
  • Management
  • Marketing
  • Operations
  • Strategy
AJB publishes both conceptual and empirical discipline-based scholarship and also welcomes replications of empirical studies and opinion and comment from executives. Manuscripts should be embedded in the contemporary literature, and initial review and acceptance will be predicated on clear and logical theory building for conceptual work and methodological adequacy for empirical work, citation of contemporary sources, relevance of the research and applications being clearly discussed, and compliance with the formatting, citation, and reference style of the AJB.
