It also serves as a wider global forum to discuss and disseminate research. Aims to help African authors give their papers the best possible chance of publication by helping them progress successfully through the various stages from pre-submission of the manuscript, to revision and, finally, publication.

It seeks to engage with electronic publishing and its possible value to African scholarship and discuss how e-publishing creates an opportunity for Africa to increase access to published works from elsewhere, as well as an opportunity for African scholarship to be read by the global academic community. This Publishing Guide for African Authors is published in cooperation with the Africa Academy of Management (AFAM) and includes a foreword written by Professor Stella Nkomo, President, AFAM and Professor of Human Resource Management at the University of Pretoria (original version created by Dr Lucy Lu, Academic Director, MBA Programme, Newcastle University Business School).

China

Although there has been a significant increase in the number of opportunities for international research collaboration, there are still barriers and difficulties for Chinese scholars in getting published in international journals.

These are centred on the different academic background, educational system and philosophical approach that underpin the process of research and academic viewpoints in the papers. This guide aims to provide practical guidance for Chinese academics and researchers who are seeking either to develop their international profile by publishing in Emerald journals or to enhance their knowledge of collaboration with Western researchers. This Publishing Guide for Chinese Authors was created by Dr Lucy Lu, Director of MBA Programmes, Associate Professor in Innovation Management, School of Management, Plymouth Business School, UK.
