Aims and scope

European Journal of Training and Development (EJTD) aims to provide all those involved in research and practice in training with ideas, news, research findings, case examples and discussion on training and development. The journal focuses primarily on activity in Europe, although draws on insights from the rest of the world where they are seen to make an appropriate contribution.

Editorial criteria

Contributors should always endeavour to spell out the practical implications of their work for those involved in training. Case study articles should normally specify:

  • background and context;
  • the objectives of the training programme or initiative;
  • the salient events of the programme or initiative;
  • the results, and how they were obtained;
  • the implications for others involved in training and development

European Journal of Training and Development does not publish articles which have been published previously in English. The Editor may consider an article which has previously been published in another language. In such cases, the author must make this clear.

Coverage

  • Globalisation and HRD
  • Blended learning and e-Learning
  • Talent Management and HRD
  • Call centres, contact centres and service centres
  • Corporate strategy, culture and HRD
  • The European labour market
  • Management education innovations
  • Regional insight into small firm's training initiatives
  • European approaches to HRD
  • Employee engagement in HRD

All the articles in EJTD are refereed to ensure academic rigour, so you'll only read about relevant and thorough research which has a practical edge, or get an insight into case histories from major European industrial organizations. By tapping into the experience of other training professionals, subscribers discover what's working, what isn't - and what they can do to keep ahead.

Topicality

Every issue of the journal puts the reader right in the midst of the latest thinking. Whatever your area of interest, chances are you will find it discussed, in depth. EJTD concentrates on those training requirements unique to the industrial sector. However, the important topics aren't limited to Europe. Where applicable, global examples are presented too.

Key benefits

All the articles in EJTD are refereed to ensure academic rigour, so you'll only read about relevant and thorough research which has a practical edge, or get an insight into case histories from major European industrial organizations. By tapping into the experience of other training professionals, subscribers discover what's working, what isn't - and what they can do to keep ahead.

Because it's published in paper format and online, EJTD offers current information on training in Europe. Both the latest and back issues can be searched for a chosen subject, in seconds.

Unique attributes

Creating training strategies is much easier when you have an insight into the work of the world's leading experts. But you can't always attend every international conference or symposium... and general management and training journals don't provide the level of detail you need.

European Journal of Training and Development is the only publication which has the information training professionals are looking for, complete with the models they need and all the appropriate references. EJTD features the thoughts and research of academics and practitioners who are leading the revolution in workplace education, making it easy to compare your theories with those of other professionals in the field.

EJTD authors can be guests on the podcast show Dear Human Resources

Dear Human Resources: takes current HR topics and trends, looks at the research, talks to experts (both practitioners and researchers), and gives listeners a behind-the-scenes perspective on HR topics. Dear Human Resources: is available on iTunes, Stitcher, Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts.

Authors of EJTD articles who are interested in being podcast guests to discuss their EJTD article should contact Dr. Marie-Line Germain at [email protected].
