Social Transformations in Chinese Societies (STICS) is an international, interdisciplinary journal which provides a forum for research which addresses issues of sociological significance related to Chinese societies across the world.

Aims and scope

The journal Social Transformations in Chinese Societies (STICS) publishes research which addresses issues of sociological significance related to social transformations in Chinese societies worldwide, at a time when these societies are undergoing rapid and significant social, political, economic, and cultural change. 

The journal publishes research from several disciplines, including sociology, history, anthropology, political science, economics and education. The journal has a broad appeal to social scientists, including those interested in East Asian studies and development studies.

STICS publishes research on Chinese societies worldwide, whether based in China or in other parts of the globe. 

The journal follows a double-blind peer review process.
