About the Editor

Series Editor

We are pleased to announce a new series editor for Sociology of Crime Law and Deviance commencing September 2024.

Joseph H. Michalski is Professor and King’s Research Excellence Chair at King’s University College at Western, Canada.

Joseph H. Michalski has taught at King’s University College at Western University since 2003. In 2005, he developed and launched the department’s Criminology program. He subsequently has served as the Chair of the Department of Sociology and as the Associate Academic Dean. He has extensive experience in applied social research, policy analysis, and program evaluation, having served as the Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator on more than 50 independent research studies involving nearly $3.5 million in funding.

Calls for submissions

Sociology of Crime, Law and Deviance publishes scholarly work in the areas of the sociology of deviance, criminology and criminal justice, and sociology of law.

Aims and scope

With a focus on the sociology of deviance, criminology and criminal justice, and the sociology of law, Sociology of Crime, Law and Deviance embraces a diverse range of theoretical perspectives, methodological orientations, and research topics. The series publishes thematic edited volumes and original monographs, both in long and short form. 


Prior volumes in the series have addressed a variety of issues ranging from the organisation of the legal professions to ethnographies of law, the criminology of terrorism surveillance, and restorative justice. Prospective volume editors or authors are welcome to contact the series editor to discuss ideas for future volumes.
