Introduction

The special issue is associated with a conference: European Academy of Management and sport management track. It seeks to gain a deeper understanding of the unique development in sports, its logic of co-creation of value and the advancement of the sport industry towards internationalisation, professionalization, and commercialisation. The special issue aims to cover all management functions and welcomes papers that address a range of topics related to future management of sport including transformation of sport organisations, human resources and volunteering, sport facility management, professional sport clubs, sport finance and economics, sponsorship and branding, fans and spectators in sport, equality and diversity in sport. Important aim is the to look forward on future challenges and possibilities in sport sector. The special issue corresponds to contemporary research such as:
