The real estate sector is one of the most exposed sectors to climate change related risks and events. In the last two years ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) has become a buzzword that has exploded into the business world, and the implications for property assets will be immense. Research needs to be undertaken to provide insights into the climate change-related risks posed to real estate and the strategies taken to mitigate and adapt real estate.

Therefore, this timely and topical special issue investigates the increasing impact and implications of ESG provisions and restrictions on the pricing of property assets and the investment strategy therewith. The aim is to examine how the challenges of climate change mitigation will impact upon the property market around the world.
