Is Artificial Intelligence (AI) our new mentor? In the contemporary landscape of Industry 5.0, where the integration of AI and human capabilities defines a paradigm shift in digital transformation, the pivotal role of mentorship has become paramount.

Recognised globally as a highly effective learning and development process, mentoring is indispensable across various industries and sectors. Traditional mentoring models such as senior-junior dyad have had their own time earlier, however, with the rapid evolution of digital era, a new age of mentoring practices is on rise specially in industry 5.0. Digital mentoring is also termed as remote mentoring, tele-mentoring, cyber-mentoring, or e-mentoring processes as all these practices employ a mix of synchronous and asynchronous communication methods.

The forthcoming Emerald book by Shikha Gera and Archana Shankar on "Digital Mentorship: Bridging AI-Human Divide in the Era of Industry 5.0" offers a new insight on mentoring by looking at it through the lens of digital age mentoring within the realm of Industry 5.0 in multinational organisations all over the globe.

The book would focus on different perspectives of mentoring in businesses and draw discussions on cases from diverse organisations/industries exploring digital mentorship influenced by AI. The book would examine the drivers of, and barriers to, online mentoring processes amid Industry 5.0 transformation. The inclusion of real-life case studies from various organisations would make this book distinctive. The book would be a great resource for academics, students, and business executives.
