Journal of International Cooperation in Education

Emerald Publishing has announced its partnership with the Center for the Study of International Cooperation in Education (CICE) at Hiroshima University to publish its Journal of International Cooperation in Education (JICE).

The journal is a double-blind peer-reviewed, open access journal that engages with empirical, theoretical and methodological discussions on educational policies, systems and practices in the global South.

Since its official launch in 1998, JICE has become an alternative venue for generating non-Western-centric knowledge in educational development. JICE aims to contribute to accumulating field-level knowledge, policy-making and development strategies in the global South while espousing an unconventional mode of international cooperation in education.

The journal’s editorial team include Kazuhiro Yoshida from Hiroshima University in Japan as Editor-in-Chief and Tatsuya Kusakabe from Hiroshima University as Co Editor-in-Chief.

Kusakabe had this to say about the partnership: 'We are really excited to see a new phase of our journal. We believe it will stimulate the global discussions on education from the global South.'

JICE will publish one issue in 2022 and two issues from 2023 onwards. Its first issue in partnership with Emerald will be published in October 2022.
