Water Management (WAMA) is looking for a new Editor-in-Chief to lead its Editorial Advisory Board from January 2025.
Introduction
ICE Publishing has a vacancy for a new Editor-in-Chief in its Water Management journal in 2025.
The current Editor-in-Chief, Professor Julien Harou, will be stepping down from the role at the end of 2024.

About the role
Some of the key qualities sought for the position of Editor-in-Chief are:
- An established record of scholarship in the field
- Previous experience in an editorial role (i.e. journals, special issues, book volumes)
- Managerial skills to oversee the editorial cycle and meet deadlines
- Willingness to work closely and collaboratively with the journal Publisher
- The ability to inspire an active Editorial Advisory Board
- An appreciation of WAMA’s editorial objective to publish high quality research
The role of the Editor-in-Chief/Panel Chair is to:
- Further the quality of the journal and to promote it to the international community
- Solicit high quality manuscripts and assist authors through the editorial process
- Provide editorial direction to the Editorial Advisory Board
- Oversee peer review to publish journal issues on time and according to schedule and article budget
- Manage the membership of the Panel
- Arbitrate on differences of opinion on papers
- In consultation with the Publisher, respond to author complaints and advise on corrective action
- Chair Editorial Advisory Board meetings
- Maintain close liaison with ICEP/Emerald publishing team
- Advising Emerald on the direction and development of WAMA
- Maintain links with the relevant ICEP Expert Panel
- Manage process of selecting papers for journal awards
