SRRNet’s 22ND INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AND 13TH ORGANISATIONAL GOVERNANCE CONFERENCE

Cairo 4-7  September 2024

Corporate Environmental Responsibility

In September 2024, in Cairo (Egypt), SRRNet’s 22nd International Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility and 13th Organisational Governance Conference will take place. As we will be meeting in such a spectacular place then we can expect our conference also to be spectacular. Cairo itself need no introduction and we will be welcomed by the German University of Cairo who will host this conference.
Given the current concern with climate events which are taking place and with all the other issues concerning sustainability it seems appropriate that for this year we will focus upon environmental responsibility, although as always other issues are welcomed to be discussed.

CALL FOR PAPERS

According to the recent UN report on climate change (2022), the globe is facing environmental challenges including water pollution, deforestation, air and soil contamination, and destruction of wild life. While many of these challenges are global in nature, their imminent effects tend to be particularly severe in developing and emerging economies due to weak legislations and institutional voids. The question about the major role of Multinational Corporations (MNCs) in contributing to and curbing environmental degradation is becoming central in the discussion of management. This year’s conference is interested in submissions related to the concept of Corporate Environmental Responsibility (CER), and CER strategies of MNCs in emerging and developing economies. Specific topics may include (but not limited to):

  • MNCs’ CER strategies in emerging markets

  • MNCs and NGOs partnerships to implement sustainability programs
  • Sustainability reporting and CER disclosure
  • MNCs’ sustainable supply chains and SMEs’ partnerships
