Emerald Publishing partners with East Delta University to advance open research

14th July 2021

Emerald Publishing has partnered with East Delta University to co-create a new service supporting the university in its drive towards open and transparent publication.

The partnership will provide the university with increased visibility of their research, as well as support services and guidance for their authors on open research and publishing.

Through this partnership, the university will launch a dedicated collection of research on Emerald Open Research, an open access platform where research is openly available to read, download and share. Researchers at the institution will also be able to participate in an educational workshop on publishing processes, open practices, the promotion of research and ongoing support from the experienced Emerald team. East Delta University plans to publish a collection of interdisciplinary research articles.

Shelley Allen, Head of Open Research at Emerald Publishing, said 'This progressive partnership enables us to work closely with East Delta University to provide a platform for the research that will give it the attention it deserves. Alongside this we will be collaborating with faculty at the institution to identify how we can support them and provide personalised guidance on how to increase visibility of their research and how to publish openly'.

East Delta University is committed to excellence in all aspects of life both inside and outside of the classroom, to integrity, innovation that improves quality of life, respect for diversity and enhancement of global learning through extensive collaborative efforts with universities and businesses around the world.

Mr Sayeed Al Noman, Vice Chairperson and the founder of East Delta University, commented 'East Delta University is on its mission to enrich the quality of life by disseminating advanced and contemporary knowledge. Research is one of the key imperatives by which a university’s quality of standard should be measured. I hope this partnership with Emerald Open Research will enable the scholars to engage in scholarly discourse and both highlight and solve the problems of various fields through unique approaches that will act as a precursor to sustainable development. I believe this partnership will help the institution and researchers to create a substantial impact in society by making the research more visible and accessible'.
