We are delighted to announce that Emerald Publishing has been shortlisted for the 2023 Independent Publishing Awards, Alison Morrison Diversity and Inclusivity Award, for the third year running.

The award recognises efforts to make our industry more diverse and inclusive, both internally and through the content that is published.

The Independent Publishers Guild praised Emerald for our continued investment in diversity: "[Emerald] made more excellent progress on diversity in 2022 and appointed its first inclusion lead. It improved its recruitment processes, set up new staff networks and published widely around diversity, equality and inclusion." Judges commended Emerald for our commitment to diversity and inclusivity throughout the business, commenting: "Emerald is committing time and resources to making sure the workplace is inclusive. They’ve cemented inclusivity across the whole business."

Sally Wilson, VP Publishing, Emerald Publishing, said: "We are absolutely thrilled to be recognised for our efforts to embed diversity and inclusivity in every part of our business and drive change within our communities. We as publishers play a huge role in creating an equitable knowledge system and that’s why we will continue to invest our time and resources to ensure that our workplace is inclusive and accessible by design, and that diversity, inclusivity and accessibility are at the heart of our publishing practices."
