Emerald’s Insight platform achieves ASPIRE gold standard for accessibility statement

27th July 2021

Emerald Publishing has achieved a gold rated ASPIREscore of 100% for its Insight platform’s accessibility statement.

ASPIRE ranks publishers by accessibility statement, awarding each one a score based on criteria such as available content formats and discoverability of key information.

Emerald’s gold rating and score of 100% marks its commitment to ensuring its platform is accessible for all users, regardless of their ability or technology. Since the platform’s launch in 2019, the Emerald User Experience and Development teams have worked hard to improve the online experience for all users.

Emerald Insight is a progressive platform that offers a simpler and more rewarding experience to discovering social sciences research.

Harriet Bell, Marketing Director at Emerald Publishing, commented: “The launch of Emerald Insight was a pivotal moment in our journey to play our part in creating the right conditions for social sciences research to reach new audiences. That is why it was key for us to prioritise updates to accessibility on Insight to remove any barriers that might be stopping users from being able to access the research in the way that they need.”

Huw Alexander, director at ASPIRE, added: “We are delighted to see Emerald Insight achieve a thoroughly deserved 100% ASPIREscore for the quality of their accessibility statement. It reflects the expertise of the Insight team and the commitment across the whole company to making their content available to all. Congratulations!”
