To mark the 25th anniversary of the Literati Awards, we are pleased - for a six-week period from the beginning of December 2018 - to be able to offer free public access to 25 of the most outstanding pieces of impactful academic research to have won one of these prestigious accolades.
Those wishing to access this impressive collection of social sciences and management-related research will be able to do so via a dedicated landing page promoted via the #Literati25 social media campaign.
Since their inception in 1993, the Literati Awards have become synonymous with individuals from across the globe that carry out interdisciplinary research and research activities that create real impact.
They are also a marker for successful academic careers. A simple Google search for ‘Literati Awards’ will return page after page of results of researchers and their institutions celebrating their respective awards. For some, winning a Literati award represents a career high point, while others see an award as a launch pad for academic career progression.
To quote Professor Yen-Chun Jim Wu, National Sun Yat-Sen University, Taiwan: “It is my deep pleasure to receive the Emerald Literati Network’s Highly Commended Award.
“Such international recognition is not only a great honour for myself, but also a token of encouragement for Taiwanese scholars to reach new levels of research excellence.
“I also truly believe this award will serve as a stimulus for other researchers in Asia to continually contribute more high quality research.”
Professor Jochen Wirtz - Vice Dean, Graduate Studies, NUS Business School - said, meanwhile, that: “It was an honour the receive this Emerald Literati Award. Not only did my university value it, it also brought much enhanced exposure to our article which resulted in excellent impact.”
K.N. (Raj) Rajendran, Associate Professor of Marketing at University of Northern Iowa, said: "Receiving the Literati Award was a wonderful surprise when it happened! It was even sweeter that my co-author and I received the award in person from the Permanent Secretary for Education (UK) in a ceremony in London.
“It helped to raise my research profile in the college and was partly instrumental in my subsequent tenure and promotion."
The criteria used to judge the awards are based on the following areas: quality; rigour, relevance; impact and originality.
