Integrity and anti-corruption in accounting research

Integrity and anti-corruption in accounting research

28th October 2018

Integrity and anti-corruption are emerging areas in accounting research and writing on this topic is a challenge, especially in a developing country like Indonesia. Finding a relevant journal to publish my research in was also a challenge, so I chose to publish my work as a book chapter.

In my country, many academics select to publish their work in a journal rather than a book chapter as there is a perception that there isn’t as much rigor involved. This is not the case and the process involved is similar to journal publishing which includes blind peer review.  In a book chapter, the editors and publishers play important roles to guarantee the quality and assure the high impact of publications.

I collaborated with colleagues from other universities who understood the importance of publishing in a book chapter. I’m fortunate to have a wide international network which has helped to make my publications more valuable. As a result, my publication has been chosen as the best paper in my university and also awarded as an ‘Outstanding Author Contribution in the 2018 Emerald Literati Awards’.

This recognition has contributed to my university accreditation and increasing my reputation as a lecturer. I must thank Emerald as a trusted publisher who always provides great support for every international publication.
