All manuscripts are subject to a double-blind peer review and editorial process in accordance with Emerald Publishing policies. Previous volumes can be found here.
Authors should submit their manuscripts directly to the Editor, Olayinka Moses ([email protected]), or the listed special issue editor(s) (if applicable).
Preparing your manuscript for submission
| Format | Article files should be provided in Microsoft Word format. |
| Title page | A separate title page file should be submitted. This title page should contain the following: Author details List the full name of all contributing authors in publication order, including their respective:
Biographies AEAM requires a brief professional biography of not more than 150 words supplied for each named author. Research funding and acknowledgements Your article must reference all sources of external research funding and relevant acknowledgements. |
| Article length / word count | Articles should be between 6,000 and 9,000 words in length. This includes all text, for example, the structured abstract, references, all text in tables, and figures and appendices. Please allow 250 words for structured abstract. |
| Structured abstract | All submissions must include a structured abstract, following the format outlined below. These four sub-headings and their accompanying explanations must always be included:

| Keywords | Your submission should include up to five appropriate and short keywords that capture the principal topics of the paper. |
| Tables and figures | Include clearly labelled tables, figures, and appendices where applicable. |

| Third party permission | Where third-party materials are used, authors must obtain all necessary permissions prior to publication and ensure that appropriate acknowledgements and copyright requirements are fully complied with. |

Advances in Environmental Accounting & Management (AEAM) advances interdisciplinary scholarship at the intersection of environmental accounting, accountability, and management. AEAM is dedicated to publishing innovative research examining how accounting, organisational practices, and institutional arrangements [re]shape responses to sustainability challenges linked to environmental outcomes.
Aims and scope
Advances in Environmental Accounting & Management (AEAM) publishes interdisciplinary research on the accounting, accountability, and management of environmental issues and their implications for organisations, institutions, and society. The series welcomes rigorous theoretical, empirical, critical, and practice-oriented scholarship that examines how accounting, governance, reporting, assurance, management systems, and broader institutional arrangements [re]shape responses to environmental challenges and associated sustainability outcomes.
AEAM covers a broad range of topics at the intersection of environmental reporting and assurance, climate-related accountability, corporate environmental governance, environmental management systems, sustainable supply chains, environmental risk management, and public sector environmental accountability. The series also encourages research on the implications of emerging technologies, data systems, and institutional transformations for environmental governance and accountability. AEAM gives particular attention to scholarship addressing global environmental priorities reflected in the environmentally related United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including Climate Action (SDG 13), Clean Water and Sanitation (SDG 6), Affordable and Clean Energy (SDG 7), Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12), Life Below Water (SDG 14), and Life on Land (SDG 15). Contributions are encouraged to critically examine how accounting and management practices support, shape, or constrain environmental stewardship and ecological sustainability outcomes.
Recognising the inherently interdisciplinary nature of environmental challenges, AEAM welcomes diverse theoretical and methodological perspectives from accounting, management, governance, public policy, economics, environmental studies, and related disciplines. The series particularly encourages research situated in emerging and underexplored contexts, including Majority World settings, where environmental and accountability challenges often intersect with broader social, economic, and institutional dynamics.
