Introduction
Technological developments and solutions, including the rapid advancement of AI, are emerging quickly, sometimes with little time for innovations to be fully absorbed. We are yet to fully understand the potential dual benefits of digital technologies and AI for supporting worker well-being and performance, while also helping to achieve organisational goals and productivity targets. Their adoption brings a range of advantages, but also barriers that must be carefully negotiated. This special issue will integrate new insights to explore and address these questions, which are relevant for organisations and employees, as well as for developers, researchers, and policy-makers.
