Advances in Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities (AMHID) is pleased to announce the creation of an Early Career Reviewer Board!

AMHID is a vital and pioneering source of peer-reviewed research and information specific to the mental health needs of people with intellectual/learning disabilities.

The journal integrates current research with practice and keeps researchers and professionals up to date with a variety of different perspectives and international developments in the field.

As strong believers in positive change and continued learning and development, AMHID has decided to develop an Early Career Reviewer Board (ECRB) to give Early Career Researchers the means to participate within a journal publishing environment and to be involved in developing AMHID for the community along with the editors.

ECRs are expected to have at least 3 years' experience in research (e.g. research assistant/postdoctoral associate/doctoral candidate) and a strong and demonstrated interest in the topics within the journal’s scope.

Selected applicants will be appointed to the ECRB for 3 years, after which there may be the opportunity to be appointed to the Editorial Advisory Board (EAB) in consultation with the Editorial team. Each member is expected to review 3 to 4 new papers per year. There will be an introductory meeting to discuss the publication process and any questions.

Training will be provided for Emerald’s submission system, ScholarOne.

Applications

The application process is simple – please email Thomas Barker at [email protected] with your CV and a statement (no more than 400 words) on why you would like to be involved in the ECR Review Board of AMHID. Please also mention your primary areas of research expertise.
