Information and Computer Security (ICS) is pleased to announce the forthcoming Special Issue 'Human Aspects of Cybersecurity: The Role of Human Understanding in Building a Secure Future' in partnership with the 2025 EuroUSEC conference.
This Special Issue will explore how human behaviour, cognition, and socio-cultural factors affect security and privacy. By combining insights from psychology, human–computer interaction, usable security, and organisational studies, this issue aims to discuss the factors driving cybersecurity toward a more human-centred future built on awareness, shared responsibilities and mutual understanding between general population and cybersecurity experts.
The Special Issue is based on the work done in the frames of the 2025 European Symposium on Usable Security (EuroUSEC2025) – the key European event in the area of Usable Security and Privacy. This year's conference took place in Manchester, and brought together researchers, practitioners, and students to discuss issues related to human-computer interaction, security, and privacy.
Invited authors are able to submit their papers until 19 January 2026.
