Fellowship honour for Editor in Chief, Professor Shahzad Uddin

Journal of Accounting in Emerging Economies

We are thrilled to announce that Professor Shahzad Uddin, editor-in-chief of the Journal of Accounting in Emerging Economies (JAEE), as well as Professor of Accounting and Director of the Centre for Accountability and Global Development at Essex Business School, University of Essex, has been awarded a prestigious Fellowship by the Academy of Social Sciences (AoSS), which is the sector’s leading independent voice in the UK, where it champions the vital role social sciences play in education, governments and business.

Professor Uddin’s research covers a diverse range of topics, including management accounting control, public sector accounting, governance, and sustainability. His accolades include being awarded the British Accounting and Finance Association Distinguished Academic Award in 2022, for his substantial contribution to academic accounting and his direct contribution to academic accounting and finance life in the UK.

This honor recognises his outstanding contributions to social science, particularly his contributions to accounting research. Shahzad has also mentored many early-career and established scholars in the social sciences field.
