Mental Health and Social Inclusion journal is inviting applications from researchers and professionals based in India to join our editorial team as an Associate Editor. This opportunity reflects the journal’s commitment to expanding its reach and supporting the increasing number of submissions from authors in India.

Mental Health and Social Inclusion is an international journal dedicated to advancing inclusive, recovery-oriented mental health practice. We publish research, practice, reflections, and innovations that promote dignity, empowerment, and social justice for people with lived experience of mental health conditions.

About the role:

As an Associate Editor, you will play a vital role in helping to shape the journal’s future and supporting its mission to foster inclusive mental health research and practice. This role is particularly suited to applicants from India who are passionate about advancing mental health equity and inclusion in diverse cultural contexts.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing peer review of manuscripts using our online submission system (ScholarOne)
  • Supporting authors and reviewers throughout the editorial process
  • Promoting the journal at conferences, workshops, and online platforms
  • Advising the Editors by recommending manuscript decisions and contributing to journal development.
Who should apply:

We welcome applications from individuals who:

  • Hold a PhD or equivalent professional qualification in mental health, psychology, psychiatry, social work, or a related field
  • Have experience as a peer reviewer or editorial board member
  • Have published in peer-reviewed journals so understanding the publication process
  • Can provide fair, constructive feedback to authors
  • Are fluent in English and comfortable working with ScholarOne (training and guidance provided)

Term of appointment:

Successful candidates will be appointed for an initial term of 2 years, beginning in 2026.
