Emerald Publishing collaborates with ChronosHub to drive open access research through a simplified and improved experience for authors, institutions, consortia, and funders.
The partnership with ChronosHub plays a key part in Emerald’s commitment to support their authors’ and customers’ transition to an open world more easily with a simplified user experience. At the heart of this collaboration is a shared desire to break down the barriers and complexities when authors publish their work openly, as well as offer a leading service that supports customers who manage open access publishing agreements.
The service will include a compliancy publication finder to help authors adhere to institutional and funder mandates for all of Emerald’s journals as well as their open science platform, Emerald Open Research. It will also include automated recognition of their eligibility for waivers, discounts, vouchers and Read & Publish agreements, along with a simplified licensing process. Furthermore, it will ease the administrative burden of funders, institutions, and consortia through a dashboard enabling them to track, report, and access data on all their publishing activity, giving greater control and transparency.
Shelley Allen, Head of Open Research at Emerald Publishing, commented on the partnership saying, “We are constantly looking for ways in which we can make the pathway to publishing easier for authors and support their open journey. This is one way in which we can remove some of the time and complexity that otherwise burdens the researchers’ already busy lives. We are committed to making routes to publishing more accessible and simpler, promoting discoverability and opening up opportunities for more voices to be heard within the research ecosystem, and this partnership with ChronosHub is a great step along this journey.”
Christian Grubak, CEO at ChronosHub further commented, saying, "At ChronosHub, we are very pleased and excited to support Emerald Publishing on their journey to unburden researchers along the publishing process. Through the partnership, we aim to set the new industry best-practice for how publishers can optimize the author experience and ensure that researchers no longer need to worry about compliance issues, payments, or reporting."
