Magazine of Concrete Research is inviting applications to join our editorial team as co-Editor: structures
This role involves sole responsibility for the management of a number of articles on structural topics through the peer review process.
The role also involves working with the Editor in Chief to commission special issues, review articles and other matters of journal development.
About the Journal
Magazine of Concrete Research covers every aspect of concrete manufacture and behaviour from performance and evaluation of constituent materials to mix design, testing, durability, structural analysis and composite construction.
About the Role
As one of two subject co-Editors, you will play a vital role in helping to shape the journal’s future.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the peer review of assigned structures Papers using the journal’s online submission system
- With the Editor in Chief, contribute to the journal’s annual article acceptance target, to ensure that enough accepted articles are available for each issue and volume, according to the publisher’s schedule
- Acting as an advocate for the journal within the structures international community
- Working with Editor in Chief to commission special issues, review articles and matters of journal development.
- Abide by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Guidelines for journal Editors, ensuring that any author queries are dealt with in a timely and professional manner.

- Have strong international links within the structures field of research
- Have prior experience of the management of the peer review process
- Have published widely in international peer-reviewed journals
- Will provide fair, constructive feedback to authors
- Are fluent in English and comfortable working with journal online submission systems (training and guidance provided)
Term of Appointment:
The successful candidate is expected to serve in the role of co-Editor for an initial 2 year-period. The role includes an honorarium.
